After graduating from UTEP in 1989, I started my band teaching career at Ysleta High School, as well as Ysleta Middle School and Ysleta Elementary. I then taught band at J.M. Hanks High School from 1994 to 2001, during which time I earned my Master of Music from NMSU in 1997. Afterward, I taught at Jefferson High School from 2001 until 2018, and at Loretto Academy from January 2019 until May 2020.

I started teaching band at St Raphael Catholic School in August 2024 to the present.
