 Virtus

Volunteering at St. Raphael School is so much fun and is a wonderful opportunity to help out at the school. Keeping the best interests of our students in mind, and to provide a Safe and Secure Environment for our youth, is a priority of the Diocese of El Paso, El Paso Catholic Schools and of St. Raphael Catholic School.  To help ensure a safe environment at St. Raphael School, all volunteers MUST go through the diocesan sexual misconduct and Safe Environment training as well as the criminal background check. Volunteers MUST be VIRTUS certified in order to volunteer at the school.  If you have already taken the class, you must renew your certificate online yearly at www.virtusonline.org  and have it filed with the office.

Dates of VIRTUS Training are available at the school office.  Below are the scheduled upcoming sessions. If you would like more information please contact Elizabeth Milan at 598-2241 or you may email her at SECVirtus@straphaelelpaso.org.

Volunteer Activities

Volunteers are an important part of the schools program, they provide a valuable service. Our school could not offer the quality of education, service, and sense of community that it does without parental involvement as volunteers, committee members, and supporters.  We additionally welcome grandparents, aunts, uncles and godparents to also volunteer and support our children.  All jobs are important, and the students are delighted to know that their parents are actively involved in the school. There are so many events planned throughout the year for volunteers to help at St. Raphael.  Included in these activities are:

  • Lighthouse DADS
  • Speech Festival
  • Teacher Appreciation Week
  • Halloween Festival
  • Charlie Brown Thanksgiving Lunch
  • Christmas Classroom Parties
  • Snack Sales
  • Book Fair
  • Field Day
